A weird hole in my crank case

I have not been able to find this in manuals nor parts diagrams...

I found this funny little hole right behind the right cylinder head.
It is blanked off with a little dried out rubber bung that looks like it was white a long time ago.

Why is it there/ what am I looking at?
why does it look so mucky?
What do I do about it?

What it is I don`t know but it doesn`t go anywhere. It definitely does not go into the crank case internals and is present on my Monza

Thanks! I thought it looked scary, but I guess it's not then.
I wonder why they put it there, maybe some sort of trap for corrosion.

I'll try to find a better fitting bung and then just leave it.

I would clean the 'ole spray in 3:1 then gerra bung in it

It’s almost exaclty under the air intake. I wonder how the thc would affect idling.
