I have a C&H Black and Gold, which I have owned from new.  It's just clocked 19,500m.  It is X reg and bought from C&H in April 1982.  I have the original receipt, the price was £2699, with the maker's delivery charge, preparation charge, number plates, road fund and extended warranty the total was £2821.
The frame number is VE2446*.

My black and gold is MUM...V

IMHO the fact that most LM2s are converted to LM1 spec means that original condition LM2s are getting pretty rare and a Black n Gold even more so.

Sadly, mine was converted to a 1. I would like to make it a Mk2 again but I guess cost would be silly. I still think it's gorgeous.

My B&G MkII taken1982 or 1983. Helmet to match, with 'Moto Guzzi' on chin guard. Also have modified 'Swagman' throw over panniers to avoid the upswept exhausts. Happy days.......

Here's mine "Back in the day", circa 1989. Sadly, it's been stolen, recovered, burned out and now sits in pieces in the garage waiting a rebuild. As luck would have it, I managed to buy a new B&G tank, so maybe that's fate.......

One day, I'll think of a decent signature.

I have a feeling that the "official" (IE widely quoted) final LM II frame number was VE24081. It turns out that that's not true and frame numbers go up into the VE24400s. Bushymusic may have the one after the "last" bike!!! Guzzi records seem to be hazy in places.

The UNM***W bikes were all registered on 31/3/81 to avoid an increase in vehicle duty that came in on 1/4/81. About 70% of the series are Guzzis, 20% ducatis and the rest harleys. There are gaps including odd numbers which seem to be just missed out. Bikes were mostly registered in blocks of different models but sometimes they get a bit higgledy-piggledy (suggesting they forgot a couple in the back of the warehouse!). I was in contact with a C&H employee and i ought to chase up any info he has on them. Equally, there are still people at dream machine who may have been involved in the contract - I believe they did the paint job.

No, rather a plain bike.

I'll see if I can find the picture.

Ok, having found the photo's, I now have some more info:
Guzzi MkII B&G bought new from Oxford M/cycle Engineers on 03 Oct '81 for £3200 [?]. I remember Eddie & Tim from the dealership.
Reg is SUD1**X; 'UD' being the local Oxford mark.
Milage is 38k miles.
Frame # VE24443 with engine # VE083969; having owned since new, I am confident the engine has never left the frame.
I remember the gold paint on the wheels faking from the day I collected it.

Not really. Mk2 fairings are worth nothing, just hard to find.  Someone just gave me a complete set as they were cluttering his garage. That's my second set of spares! Keep your eyes peeled and they turn up.

Well, I’ve been beavering away refreshing my Black ‘n Gold.
If I can remember how to pop a picture up I’ll show my progress.

Unfortunately the original paintwork was badly sprayed over meaning a full respray was on
the cards.
The wiring is a bit Heath Robinson so it’s booked in with a Steve Hallam to be looked at in a couple of weeks.

I’ve still got lots of of odd jobs before I’ll be happy with it. Can’t wait.

Help, I don’t use a photo site and the pasted picture doesn’t appear in the post
