No idea when some of you last went to a camping weekend Many clubs now use sites with 24 hr toilets nearby Showers or on site stuff stalls that do attend are often decent grub with decent bar and  pub nearby, many allow trailers even campervans and caravans on site as people get older and there are often reasonable b&B  nearby ...recent events we have attended the stalls had decent fare not overpriced tat heaven that The BMF became ....  . There are many events and places that could be meet ups Ponderosa, Meet up point at Staffs Show, spring to mind how about adding where you are going to the events

I would welcome folk from this forum to the Essex branch of the MGCGB meetings, even though I no longer run the branch I am sure that the other members would agree with me. I would be very happy with that and it would go a long way to help extend bridge building between the two camps.

The UK is a big place, so trying to organise a meeting yourselves would be difficult to please all who would like to meet up. The MGCGB have 40 branches across the country that meet every month making a wider choice, not all are attended by committee members or rivet counters. You don't have to talk to folk you don't agree with but you could try... both camps are interested in Moto Guzzis so at least you will have a common language.

If you do not want to meet people outside of this forum, then I would expect that you will probably be better off not going to a MGCGB meeting, just stay in and do the ironing Wink

There are other Italian motorcycle clubs out there as well, apart from the MGCGB, but my point is that if a few of you guys want to meet in the Midlands that's fine, but it excludes the West Country, East Anglia, Scotland, Wales, the North, Ireland, the South East......I hope you get my point, without an established physical infrastructure why not borrow someone else's?

There are regular open Italian bike meets in Shepshed happy to post them up in events if interest
There are regular meets Guzzi and other Italian clubs all over the UK and well known meets/ride outs to meet from real distance would require to have camping/glamping and nearby B&B there are sites that have those facilities BUT those need commitment ie pre book and pre payment as do many bike rallies .... I do not believe there is that commitment here to be fair ..... I do know a fair few camp sites that have room for bikes/tents camping trailers motor homes and caravans ....however the cost for many range from £60-£150 for a fri-mon depending on site and facilities .....or it could be arranged to book a set amount of rooms for say a Sat evening in advance for similar money.

last year I was on my way to your meeting but me alternator packed up . I think the Midlands was suggested because it is in the middle of the country . Most of us still ride with MGCGB members and meet up but for me I just don't agree with the club politics . There are alot of us who never stay in ironing so if a meet does happen there should be a few of us .I like the idea of a cafe meet up but not in the Midlands because I want to rideSmile

Yes my son David and I will be there.
He is taking his 1000s on the track this year and I am thinking about having a go if it is OK for an old boy going slow

Johnno you will always be welcome in Essex. In my post I was trying to show the difficulty of an internet group meeting in reality. The idea of going to established meetings was that they are all over the country and of all sorts of clubs and groups, so forum members could meet there singularly or in their own groups.

To start from scratch would be difficult and never inclusive, unless meetings were started all over the country. I'll get my coat.............
