Thanks for the nice comments about the Ambassador guys!  It's my first loop frame bike and I'm very happy with how it rides.  It's the first time I've been able to ride a longer distance on it as I've had no joy in getting the charging system working.  The Marelli dynamo flashed ok and I changed to a Fiat 126 regulator, but no charge to the battery.  I sourced an alternator conversion fitting kit from Scrambler Cycle in the US, then bought the correct alternator from UK ebay (for a Kubota digger).  It now makes 14.3v from 2k rpm, so with 500w to play with I could run a fairground.  Anyway, nice to meet you all and perhaps next time we'll have better weather.

Thanks to all that organised and great to meet so many people there. Sorry not to have spoken to everyone but there was so much to revel in I couldn't make it to all the bikes and owners. Had a great time and hope something similar happens again soon.

Thanks for the kind words Chris.

My personal favourite was Derek’s beautiful Ambassador, crikey what a beaut. It’s a credit to you Derek.

Sorry that we didn’t get to chat for longer.

Derek, many thanks for bringing such an interesting and rare Guzzi model. I'll update the event report to show you as the owner.

Hopefully, next year's event on Saturday 29th June will take place in drier conditions!

I had intended to be there but my day was overtaken by a blocked and flooding drain. It took much of the day to sort it. Next time maybe.

Hi Chris,
Many thanks for organising this.  I came up from Cheltenham with my son and arrived pretty much as the rain started, so we made the most of the discounted museum price and spent a couple of hours inside.  We departed soon afterwards, so I'm sorry we were antisocial, but we did enjoy the day.
Best regards,
Derek Wardell

.. and a big thank you to all those involved with organising it. Despite the weather it was still great to mix with some nice people and see some great bikes.

Cheers,

A huge thank you to everyone who attended Moto Guzzi Day 2023. There was a total of 43 Moto Guzzis at the event. This was far more than we expected given the appalling weather forecast leading up to the day.

Just spoken to MSC Nottingham before we set off down to Warwickshire. They confirm that the V85TT, V7-850 and V100 Mandello will be available for test rides and the V9 Bobber will be on static display.

If you're planning to attend, we wish you a safe and dry ride.

Details for Moto Guzzi Day 2023 have now been finalised.

Event webpages: https://www.facebook.com/events/541876127768973 & https://www.ukbuellgroup.co.uk/419559399/453466873

MSC Nottingham will again support the event by their presence. The V100 Mandello, V85TT and V7-850 Stone will be available for test rides and either the V9 Bobber or V100 Mandello Aviazione Navale will be on static display. If you would like a test ride, please bring your driving licence, and photo ID.

Moto Guzzi Day 2023 is free and informal. No tickets are required, and you don’t have to prebook.

It starts at 10.00am and runs until late afternoon.

The event takes place in a reserved Moto Guzzi display area. This will be in car park 4 on the Museum site map below. The yellow building adjacent to car park 4 is the toilet and shower block.

During the event all motorcycle enthusiasts qualify for discounted entry to the museum, price is £10.00 per adult. The normal admission price is £14.00 or £16.00, depending on age.

The British Motor Museum has excellent facilities and houses the world's largest collection of historic British cars. It is located on Banbury Road in Gaydon, 1.5 miles west of J12 M40.

Museum website: https://www.britishmotormuseum.co.uk

If using a Sat Nav for directions, we recommend you enter the British Motor Museum as a point of interest rather than using the postcode.

There were 97 Moto Guzzis at last years event. Let’s hope that this year’s event attracts a similar number!
