It was quite slippery out there today and it was confirmed when I got half way around a bend to find a lady sitting in the road and a BMW in the hedge

Pottered around the Somerset Levels this afternoon. Very atmospheric. And damp. The Himalayan was the perfect tool - we had to wade along one road which had been dry yesterday. No wind gave perfect reflections on the floodwaters

It reminded me of sunrise over Angkor Wat in Cambodia, the picture does not give the beauty of The Levels justice. There are some really great bike roads in the area, and some lousy ones where the road surface has broken down. Most traffic by-passes Somerset on the M5 / A303 and being a newcomer here I have had an excuse to explore.
The A30 Chard to Yarcombe road has to be one of the best, it climbs and has hairpins like a mountain road, but there are many others. AndyB

Yes, the Himalayan is perfect for exploring, even where there is no road to speak of as in Mid Wales near Lake Vyrnwy a few days ago.... |

You do have to watch out for 40mph speed limits all over the place round Zummezet, though
