Maybe I'm a bit pedantic.. I've got the "engineers gene"... but...
Whilst fitting pannier frames to my 2015 V7 II I discovered the top tubes that support the seat are lower on the LHS compared to the RHS, to the tune of 3mm This is with the wheels vertical and the handlebars dead level. I know 3mm isn't much, but packing the seat rubbers by 3mm makes the seat feel much more "right". Without the packing there's a gap between the LHS rubbers and the frame. The rear platform where the seat lock is fitted is virtually level (only 1mm error, measured using a spirit level). Is it me? Surely this can't be right, can it?? Maybe I just need a beer...

Shoddy. But then again, did you ever see the Meriden factory in operation. They would have marvelled at a mere 3mm discrepancy. Deserved to go to the wall

One journo who made a visit to the factory (Meriden) reliably informed us (the readership) how exhausts were made to fit during assembly by "a hefty boot" - literally.

LOL! I'll have to start riding on the "wrong" side then. Not sure I'd fancy a trip round the Guzzi factory, it might be like visiting a pork pie factory - puts you off pies for life apparently
