For reference when I take it in to get painted. So something that the body shop can easily use to get the right thing done

I think the top was matt black originally.

Yes it was, what I'm after is the pattern of that black and red along with the black pin stripe

Yes, I also believe that the black was "satin."

when I painted part of mine, I couldnt find a definite shade of red, so I settled on ford Rosso red, it was a little redder than the original, but the original was old, it looked really good, I don’t think you can get a (correct shade) I think the paint mixer for the factory was happy with close enough.

Honestly, it was like ...

... you can't be serious? Lovely lacquered metallic finish right next to a bland 'orrible matt black panel. I'm still amazed it could be done side by side like that on the same piece of metal.

I gave up trying to find the correct red for the MKII and did mine blue. From what I remember its a slightly darker red than all the other models of Le Mans. Not as pretty, but beauty and eyes of beholders and all that. My question is what do you think the pinstriping thickness and gap thickness between the satin black and colour should be? Can you find one that hasn't been already refinished in what the painter thought it was before he got the primer on?!

Just because its new doesn't mean it works!

This is a LM2 I bought about 5 years ago, it may of been refinished by Dream Machine many years ago as the fairing panels had their name on the back of them,  I've no idea if the tank was redone but it looks pretty original to me
take some copies of the picures if you like, I'll turn the privacy settings back up afterwards
I sold this to a friend so could if needed get a better pic of what you want, its still untouched since I had it

Thanks Keith, very helpful - do you have a pic of the part of the tank that normally is covered by the seat?
