Hi

I wasn't shure where to post this, so if there's a better section, please advise.

The threaded plastic ring that keeps the ignition lock/switch in place in the dashboard of my V50 has snapped.

I can't find a replacement without buying a complete lock.
Anybody got a suggestion for a cheapish, sturdy alternative?

Basically just a threaded ring maybe with a small inwards flange in one end.
Threading is M22 x 1.0 mm pitch.

It could very well be a part intended for something completely different. I've been looking at HVAC and plumbing stuff, axle nuts, yoke nuts, etc...

Cheers

Expensive, but it's the same thread as the top yoke nut on some Japanese bikes:

Can't find the same one on eBay but I bought one for my V35 as the original was missing. It needs some filing to fit between the clocks though as it's quite tight.

Thanks everybody.
I've been looking a lot at yoke nuts too.

And while I can find fiat switches for sale it's only the entire assembly and not the bezel ring alone.

I discovered that some taps have a metric thread at the end that should be the same so I have ordered a hose barb mount that will hopefully come apart and then fit.
The brass finish should suit nicely too. If I was building a steam punk bobber thing, which I'm not though.

I will report back.
If it doesn't work I'll be sure to mail you, Min, Cheers.

It did ‘t work.
Threading was correct pitch and outer diameter, but inner diameter was too small so wouldn’t engage.

What internal diameter do you need? If it's a straightforward boring job I could probably do it for you if you pop the ring in the post. No charge of course.
