Hi Guys, I am going to change the oil and filter (with some help) in my guzzi and wondered if I needed any special tools to do this? Any help on this would be much appreciated Smile

Not that I can remember, just a normal set of spanners, or a socket set.

The off the shelf oil filter removing chain type spanners are good for removal new one put a smear of oil on the seal and hand tighten if you wear the nitrile mechanics gloves it will give you enough grip to get it tight the end cap type socket can b e bought from car spares shops I think Fiat are the same UFI filters are the ones to use

No Ken, the V50 III has a filter behind the plate under the sump, not a screw in one.

WRT the original question, I seem to remember that there is only one way round to put the cap on so that it locates properly. But I'm not going to grovel on the floor to check. Just make sure you note it when you remove the cap.
