Hi all. Currently (hah) chasing an elusive electrical problem and lots of fingers are starting to point at the starter/kill switch so I'm looking to replace that, and would appreciate any recommendations on a reasonably priced and suitable alternative (preferably based on personal experience). Photo (below) of what I have fitted the now, a 'universal' Domino item (probably sourced from Gutsibits in the dim and distant). I'm looking for something equally slim - to fit between a Tomaselli twin pull throttle and the standard type (round/black) PS12 master cylinder/lever assembly.
I've been trawling through eBay and what I see is mostly a list of horrible looking location=China items. Don't want to pay through the nose (can't anyway!) but likewise not in a rush to put a cheap, 'fresh problems to come' unit in there. I've had the Domino item apart, hoping to find (and clean) some corroded contacts, only to find 'sealed unit' buttons in the housing. I do still have some other possibilities to check, but am kicking the 'replace the switch' process into motion, in anticipation. Thanks in advance to anyone considering doing so, but I don't need to be pointed at the 'click clack' article, thanks very much. Been there, covered that. |

I fitted one of these when I fried my right hand switch not so long ago (ahem..). Very good quality. Looks nice and works well. It has one too many wires if memory serves but is very adaptable and takes apart and goes back together fine.

What elusive electrical problem? Are you sure it's not the elusive Click no crank problem? And the other suggestion, even though the switch is "sealed" you can still spray electical contact cleaner in there, then operate the switch several times. Might help. Worth doing that when you get the replacement too, as it keeps that green gremlin out.

I fitted switchgear (both sides) from a Ducati to my LM2.
There was nothing wrong with the original switchgear other than it felt a bit flimsy but I had the Ducati parts available from a previous project and they are far better quality than the old Guzzi parts, especially the indicator switch. I had to change the connectors/plugs though as Ducati use a different setup but the Guzzi plugs can be had for little money. I believe the same gear is used on many bikes and can be had for reasonable money on ebay etc. |

I believe that is the self same R/H switch that purported to be off the Honda NS125. It gets around !
