Having seen big end bolts on other engines stretch or neck by the threads I would always replace them and nuts as well.

Given the awful state of some of the aftermarket parts I've bought I think I'll stick with Mr Turner's originals.

I once had a 1 year old Commando engine explode, con rod through crankcase. On examination by a metallugist it was discovered that the poor machining on the waisted part of the big end bolts had cause the bolt to shear. So maybe the bolt you know is better than a new replacement, especially if it's not waisted.
