please can someone help. engine ran for about 10 mins then cut out and wouldnt re start. after 15 mins it ran for about 5 mins then died, another 15 mins break and it re started for around 3 mins and now completly dead.

have changed replays and still no joy.

hope someone can help. have checked and i have no spark getting to plugs.

Check the big connector on the ECU is tight, check the side stand cut out, spray some WD40 in the right hand switch

I am sure other suggestions will come along, but try the easy, no cost checks first.

Are you getting lights, indicators, horn etc

No side stand cut out on 1100 sport.
Try kill switch as Jim said...
Could be coil problem .
Muck on crank Sensor.
When you turn on ignition do you hear fuel pump run then stop.
Will it start with clutch lever pulled in.
Check Earth on coils.
Have you had the tank off ?
If so check multi connectors under the tank

Runs when cold but cuts out after a few minutes and no spark. I would suggest the coils possibly breaking down when hot.

Yes, that would be a good starting point. Assuming two coils, unlikely that both have packed up.
 
When I had it happen, exactly the same symptom, I had a single twin output coil (Lucas Rita system).

it could well be this ,also on the right hand side as you sit on bike with petrol tank off  there is the connector (small) block for coils dirt builds up here and wiring at this age can be rotten in that connector block
