Hi all! Just bought the abaove, wondering if odometer is in KM or miles as some euro bikes of that age are? It has an MPH sppedo as std., but no info in manual or handbook, so any definitive info out there please? Cheers! Dave

If it was first registered in the UK then miles.
How is the speedo set out? Assuming MPH with the KPH scale alongside, then the odo is in miles. The KPH speedo would not have miles marked at all.

Are they the same as Sport carb clocks? Because mine is in KM with Mi in smaller digits.

Believe it or not, I don't remember the layout of the scales but 99% sure it is MPH for outer scale and bolder typeface. It is a UK bike from new in 01.Its in storage a few miles away so can;t just go have a look lol......cheers!

A UK V11 will have MPH / KPH speedo, as it happens Ive just bought a V11 that was imported from Italy 5 years ago and it still has a KPH only speedo and its had 5 UK MOTs

If the outer, bolder scale is MPH then the odo will be miles.

I will, given the chance, find out for sure by checking odo against a measured mile, or a gps mile (less accurate?) there is enough slack with the gps methodvis-a-vis a mile or a KM it should prove conclusive. I thank you for your replies, and if it turns out anything differs from what the foregoing suggests, I will post back cheers!
(BUT I now have to sell the v11 as ny neck cannot cope with the riding position due to arthritis since I last had a bike, cuasing headaches and vision disturbance!! Maybe a more upright bike will help, but I fell for the v11 big time, so this sucks!)

Beautiful bike.
I have all the same problems riding sports bikes. I sold my hondavfr800 to move to a motoguzzi sport 1200. At least you can change the bars easily if you need to be more upright so far standard bars are fine you could always buy a stelvio? |

Riding position of Futura does not look too different from v11, regarding bar height/ seat/reach etc., but does have lower footpegs. Things have seemingly got much worse with my neck and spine since I last had a bike, may have to forget the whole idea now. V11 looks better though eh? If anyone wants it its £3750 ono as I can't post in sales as I have not enough posts. Will consider a deal either way on a pre 78 classic, with suitable ergonomics, lol! (Have this strange hankering for a smelly stroker, unaccountably......)
OR can I get higher bars for this? Edited by Barney Rubble - 23 Jul 2017 at 20:13 |

you have a few options for higher bars, check out Apex riser clipons from USA or fit normal handlebars, you will need to drill the top yoke and fit risers and bars of your choice plus longer brake and clutch pipes, if you don't want to drill the yoke I have a spare from a V11 Cafe Sport which has normal bars
