One more for tonight.
Which way is choke on or off on the lever? It feels like lever anti clockwise is choke off, and lever pulled clockwise is choke on, but I can't see what actually operates when you do this. I am waiting for my rider documentation. So I have the bike but no instructions yet! Cheers, Tony. |

What kind of carb is it? I'm not an expert but my Ducati has a Dellorto MB carb. The cold start device is a secondary slide up the side of the throttle slide. To enrich, it drops down into the main venturi under spring pressure. So the "choke off" position for normal running would be pulling the cable against the spring if that helps.

Thanks for the reply. Carb is Dell'Orto SS29A (correct for 1955 Falcone Sport). I did fail to mention the choke lever is marked A in the anti clockwise direction, and C in the other. I cannot find any English words that translate to Italian starting with those letters. Thanks, Tony.

Looking at SS carb diagrams on t'web it looks like cold start is a valve that lets extra fuel in. So perhaps C and A are Chiuso (closed) and Aperto (open)?

Yep. 'Aperto' means you need the slide all the way up for normal running, 'chiuso' will enrich the mix for starting. Or just tickle the carb to start if there's a tickler..
