I think when you're rebuilding bikes professionally and time is money it often makes sense to farm out some jobs. Even those like me who have ceased gainful employment and do these things as a hobby often get others to do those jobs that are unpleasant / too technical / lack interest.
I hate doing things like polishing and paint stripping which are filthy. I do like painting but know my limits. My welding is ugly enough to make grown men cry. I enjoy wiring (especially non-standard where I have to work it all out), making control cables, and all mechanical stuff especially gearboxes. I have recently discovered that I don't like making braided brake lines especially where the orientation of the ends is critical....... |
