First it was the Hella spotlight brackets, one of them fractured without any impact whatsoever which was quite bizarre. I couldn't purchase replacement brackets as per the original anywhere online without purchasing complete new light units. I got round the problem by buying some spotlight guards (as per photo) which mounted on the engine bars instead of the original brackets.
Now I have the problem of wires chaffing inside the spotlight (I hear this is quite common) and the main fuse blowing. I will probably fit some in-line fuses on each light to stop the main fuse blowing and potentially leaving me stranded on the roadside. However, is there anyway around the wires inside the lights chaffing from the V-Twin vibrations? PG.

The first bracket broke due to fatigue no doubt. Don't know about the shorting problem, but try to make sure things can't vibrate and chafe inside the light. Sometimes you can add an extra sleeve on the individual wires.

Daft idea that the only fuese in the the circuit is the main one which also kills the charging. Definitely fit a seperate fuse for the foglights of the correct size (according to the bulb fitted or LEDs).
