When I was involved in CBT training one of the things we used to warn young riders to be aware of was lowered hatchbacks driven by yougsters wearing baseball caps backwards. Coming up behind them they were easily recognised by their 'I'm a dickhead' exhaust (a tailpipe the size of a bucket). I haven't seen so many around lately, maybe the MOT has picked them up.

I find that as a generalism, the same is true of bike riders unfortunately, the louder the exhaust, the worse the riding ability of the rider.

Thank you All for the lively discussion. I will be patient and give the stock  cans a chance to break in first. The wait should pay off. I'm wary of spending more $$$ on slip-ons.

i drilled out my '99 V11EV with a hole saw and extension.  It was a really nice sound but not too loud.

I don't agree with that they can ride good and often skilled at stoppies and wheelies the problem is they do it on roads making them look dickheads
