My 02 model Cali stone seems like its not running as well as it should in the mid range and feels a bit lumpy.

I thought it might need a carb balance so I checked it with a Carbtune and it was pretty much spot on at tick over and when revving.

The TPS is reading 375mV with the throttle shut and 4.70V at fully opened which I believe is about right.

Both plugs look slightly rich but not too bad. The petrol & air filters are fairly new, the plugs are new and the tappet gaps are good.

I plan to check the ignition timing and shove some injector cleaner the tank but is there anything else worth looking at? Temperature sensor maybe?

Which temp sensor is it? The one screwed into the back of the head often doesn't make good contact so worth putting some heat conducting compound in before screwing the sensor in. But I would check with injector cleaner first. Dodgy fuel a possibility?
Brian.

I was thinking the engine temp sensor might be reading low and causing the bike to run a little rich. I'll try your tip Brian, cheers Thumbs Up. Also could be bad fuel has messed up the injectors.
