Hi there. Just bought my first ever Moto Guzzi, a V9 Roamer, and thought joining a forum would be a useful and sociable thing to do.
I've been riding for 24 years now and love bikes though I've not ridden as much recently due to long term ill health. I've now taken early retirement and bought myself a 'little treat' as a retirement gift, that being the Guzzi. I've owned a previous 22 bikes and ridden many more thanks to a friend who used to run a bike shop. The Guzzi is for lazy sunny day rides and taking in the views on country roads. My knee down phase is behind me. I also have a Burgman 650 for touring, bike rallies and shopping (cavernous storage). they seemed to me to make a good pair. The Burgman is the ultimate practical machine but has as much character as a washing machine. If you own one please don't be offended. I do like it but for me it lacked that special something. The Guzzi seemed to be the complete antithesis. Lacking in practicality but beautiful to my eyes and with some soul. As soon as I saw (and heard) it I had to have it. It was 2nd hand but is a 17 plate with one former owner, 950 miles on the clock and is mint. I took some photos but the file size was too big to upload so I'll take some more smaller file pics when I pik the bike up on saturday. I'm looking forward to hearing from anyone who has the time and to learning about the bike from those with more knowledge and experience of moto Guzzi. I'm sure you won't mind if I pick your collective brains form time to time. By for now |

Hi a and welcome. Had a Burgman 400 for a while for commuting and agree, they are practical but soulless.

Evening. Also quite new to the GuzziRiders forum but found a wealth of info from fellow members. Glad you've retired. Time to spend on your new V9 and share your experiences.
Picture wise. If running Windows, or other platform. Open image in Paint (MSPaint) then from the menu resize using the Pixel option down to 600 or 1200 (see how you go) and Save. Remember to either Save As so you have a copy or keep the original safe as the resize will reduce quality. |

Welcome to the forum. Great looking retirement gift! Never too late to get a Guzzi. I had ridden 19 years before getting the strange notion to get something really different. I'm on my 51st year of riding this season and my Moto Guzzi is family now even though I've bought 2 modern Triumphs and a BMW since it's purchase in 87'.
