I there ,some help require ,I am trying to rebuild an engine from a box of bits, The cam and drive sprocket is stuck in its casing ,there is a plate with 3 retaining screws, I have removed  that ,the question is how to remove the spindle,is it a tight  fit in the bearing? do I knock it out?
I need to get this out so as I can see the timing marks .

Oh well I will reply to my own post, there appears to be a lack of Lodola experts,
the cam spindle was a tight fit in a ball bearing in the casing, there was a oil seal with a coller rusted onto the spindle. I put it all in my vice and pressed the spindle out,
I am still looking for workshop manual in English,

hello Donald, i am also starting a Lodola engine rebuild.....i too need to get the cam shaft out of the ally housing....did you just press it out from the outside....does the small timing shaft unscrew, using the flats which engage the advance plate?

Hi Adrian, yes I pushed it out from the outside of case,it is a press fit into a bearing and an oil seal. Remove advance retard unit first.
It does not unscrew with the flats,
Donald.
