The Lodola started 2nd kick after the recent works I have done to it. I still have some electrical issues, the ignition light glows dim with the key in my pocket!! The lights don't work and the ignition light comes on and off when the engine is running. Probably earth issues etc.

I would like to thank everybody who has provided information and advice to enable me to progress this far. I knew nothing about Motto Guzzi's, didn't even know where to start. Thanks everybody

The light on the headlamp lets you know when it's charging - it goes out when it is. If the light stays on, you'll be running on battery only which could leave you stranded on the side of the road in the cold, waiting to be rescued. Don't ask me how I know....
Might be worth getting the dynamo checked and replacing the regulator with a solid state one: http://www.dynamoregulators.com/dvr4.php

Thanks Nick, the light is bright and goes out when you rev but even at higher than tick over revs the light is on dim. I am really pleased with the way it ran so the electrical side can wait a while. I have a mate with the same bike and he wants me to have a go at getting his going. I'll bring your magazines back at some point.
