I used to take all of my biking woes and needs to a little place in norfeck called Dereham....nor me til I got here 12 years ago! Dave Wicks - him and Dodge and their little helper (who's name I forget) were always there to talk to any and all who popped in .Even me. He even looked after my missus when she went in to collect bits for me. It was her who found the shop in the first place.
But, I rang him last week and he's packing it in. He got knocked off his bike a year or two ago and I suppose when you've had enough ..you've had enough. I don't suppose the little shops make much - they certainly don't charge what the big shops do for labour. Mind you, try asking for the advice from a mechanic at the majority of bigger bike shops and you'll just get told to book it in.
Anyway, next door to Dave is the mot shop where I took all of my rubbish....er...bikes and Big Stu will be doing some tinkering and fettling with Dodge to help. The Cali is booked in for a tweaking this weekend.  They've both ridden Italian tractors and milwaukee tat so they know whats what...what?
So, another one bites the dust.  Cheers Dave for all the help and advice over the years. Enjoy what passes for retirement.

That is a shame.
I knew he was thinking about it but thought it was still a year or two down the line.
I'll pop in and say my farewells and wish him luck.
Pleased to hear that Stu and Dodge are carrying on though, at least for now.
Big shame that though.
