I was at a friends house and had a look through his bike books and was quite taken with "Moto Guzzi" by Mario Colombo. It describes most of the "classic" Guzzis in great detail and there are some beautiful photos. I decided to buy one for myself and searched the internet for second hand and found a copy in Germany for £1.56p and £4.44 postage via Abe Books. It was bound to be in German but I did it at school and anyway £6 for a book that weighs 5lbs, I couldn't go wrong. The advert described the book as well worn but I only wanted it for the stuff inside I wasn't going to display it or anything.
It arrived about 3 days after I'd ordered it and what a surprise, it was in mint condition and not in German but Italian which I didn't do at school. It's probably the best £6 I've ever spent, I've had Italian bikes since the 60's and I'm surprised how many technical words I know.
I know it's greedy but I'd now like to get an English copy. Please let me know if you have one surplus to requirements. Thanks, Phil

I find written German very intimidating, but they have the best-souding word for "exhaust":

                                            "Auspuff" Big smile

(Sorry, can't help you Unhappy)

p.s. it's on Amazon, but about 100 x what you paid for yours...

Hi Phil,
I have an English translation of the Italian book Moto Guzzi Falcone by Mario Colombo.  I guess this is a different book, but I'll email it to you anyway.  In fact I've got quite a lot of English translation of Falcone manuals etc so I'll send you them.
Cheers,
Derek

I bought a new English copy from a regular (purveyor of bike related books) at a local autojumble for about  30 euro. (the price printed on the back is 49 euro.  I haven't  even scratched the surface of it yet...  over the years I've bought books on everything from Royal Enfield to Norton Commando from him.

Company in Italy have  book on special offer 39 Euro. I recently bought one. Think you might have to buy cheap item, calendar etc, to get to delivery minimum. Still cheaper than buying in UK

Dave

It's also spooky how the delivery cost neatly dovetailed into the book price, I must have been due some good luck?

Item Status: Confirmed
