Just seen a thread on another forum agonising on how best to insert the dipstick into the sump - at exactly what angle etc. - in order to get the most accurate and consistent reading of the oil level. My reply, Most important question, Is there oil in the sump? Can you see it on the dipstick? Then stop worrying. |

I do wonder if anyone nowadays has , reads or gets a manual for anything? It is not difficult to measure oil in then screw in dipstick look and mark it. Takes away the guesswork and is common sense. When one checks oil in a car you push dipstick in securely.
I wonder what folk think we did back in the 70-80's and before when we bought anything with no internet?
