Just going over the 850 GT prior to a trip to the South of France. Turned on the fuel and was rewarded with a leak from the offside carb' fuel union .Not a tsunami but one of those creeping leaks that's difficult to locate. I checked the fuel hose to the union first, that wasn't it. Next I replaced the little white plastic filter mesh with a new one having cleaned the mating surfaces of the union and carb' body and replaced the fibre washer on the central bolt. The leak was now significantly worse !!!???
So, resorting to a practice which works on Amal Monobloc float chamber end covers I got the Wellseal of the shelf. Using an O ring pick as a "pen" I applied a thin line of Wellseal to the filter locating faces of both the carb' body and the union. After allowing it to go tacky for a few minutes I re-assembled the union and turned on the petrol. Hey Presto !! no leak. Wellseal has been around for decades but it still takes some beating!

You dont mention the fuel banjo connector ,and what its made from ?                                                      If its the white plastic union get rid of it,and replace with an alloy one.

It is indeed an alloy one. I wouldn't use a plastic version.
