Had the Norge wheel off to paint the fork legs and noticed bearings were a bit rough - easy change now the wheel is off. No it's not
When knocking a bearing out the bloody thing exploded leaving only the outer race in place - I cannot get the thing out all. No amount of hitting from other side is moving it, almost as if it is welded in Any ideas

Decided to go brutal and got a bit fit screwdriver and battered the race with a 3lb hanmmer, two whacks and out it popped. I must have been too light handed with it

Ahh the joys of stuck bearings!! I have been working on changing the swing arm bearings for a week now!! 4 days to get the swing arm spindle out. heat GT40 and more heat more GT40...…
now just got to get the outer races out if I can find my slide hammer or its down to the dremmel. A handy thing I found is trying to get a bit of heat onto the centre of the bearing without totally buggering the paint on the frame or swing arm. is to use a silicone pan lid, we bought these from liddle but they were useless as pan lids but cut to shape they make a great heat guard, they just blister a bit but no heat gets through to the paint. |

I think its a Guzzi thing it took me over a week to get my swingarm spindle out. Stupid design on the CARC bikes. Nice tip never seen silicone pan lids. Mind you I only use the kitchen to use the parts washer.

I removed the swinging arm spindle on the Norge without a problem, you do need a C spanner though.

Mine was so corroded it was a real swine to shift. The back wheel chucks everything at it.
