OK, I admit I'm confused. The wheel spindle is threaded at one end, but surely there is a nut which goes on there? It doesn't thread into the fork bottom direct does it? I'm just going from the parts list here.

Tony if you measure the pitch ....gaps in the thread on the spindle and the diameter of the spindle at the thread that gives the same numbers. Brian the EV has threads inside bottom left fork leg with spacer wound in by 14 mm hex socket the pinch bolts are on the right fork leg, I think Tony is getting mixed up hence the above ...On older bikes like my 76 V1000 the front spindle goes in on the left that has the spacer the right side then has a bloomin' big nut on it ....

Well ive managed to find the thread size for my v11 sport front wheel fork spindle. Some very helpful chaps I Hayle Cornwall measured the spindle thread for me. It is 18mm x 1.5 pitch
