My V7 Classic handbook gives the fuel tank capacity as 15 litres (3.3 UK gall.) including reserve.
This can't be right, as I've just put in over 17 litres, and there were at least 3 or 4 litres already in the tank.
I know the tank has swollen, but not that much! I'm beginning to realise that any information published by Moto Guzzi just can't be trusted.
What is the true actual capacity of the V7 Classic tank? Seems to be something over 20 litres.

On a related note, when i got the Guzzi last year, I was expecting to get similar fuel mileage to my departed W650 - around 60mpg. But it seems to be somewhere in the mid forties - seems mighty low to me. I do ride a bit vigorously sometimes, but I don't hammer the arse off it. Admittedly I haven't done a long run for a while to check it - presumably half a day at a steady 60/70mph would improve things...?

All that said, it's a keeper for sure. Gorgeous bike.

My 2009 Cafe gets to 160miles before reserve light comes on with my normal urban run around. I've never drained it to find tank capacity and don't know how much is left in reserve.

My plastic tank is supposed to be 17 litres. I have put that much in it when it was on the smell of an oily rag. However if you have the steel tank, it is larger, by I think about 3 litres. Maybe you have a steel tank, and the handbook is giving you plastic tank figures?

As the tank has swollen, it must be the plastic one? Mine is steel and is 22 litres I think.

Since tuning my V7 Classic using GuzziDiag I have achieved 74 mpg on mainly shortish runs, forty miles or so.

It's a plastic tank, and it holds something over 20 litres.
74mpg?! Wow, impressive. That's almost what my Enfield does.
Not sure what GuzziDiag is, but I'll ask Signore google.
