Yes, I've bought quite a bit from them, including new piston sets for V700s.

I have bought a few items from Valtermotousa - mainly hard to find, even unavailable elsewhere parts for my Guzzi and Ducatis.

Very happy with both the prices and service and wouldn't hesitate to buy from them again.   Thumbs Up

I don't see any that mention "motorrad" at all. Link?

These are closest to the correct piston for the V7 Special/Ambassador, except for one problem: they're .5 mm too small! V7 Sport pistons are 82.5 mm, but V7 Special/Ambassador pistons are 83 mm.

Hi

Thanks for that reply, that is really helpful are you saying that the 82.5 are all for the V7 sports such as the link you supplied .Here is the link for the Motorrad.....

I rang Gilardoni the other day and tried to get some info on their production date/time, they gave me the contact of a Guzzi shop in Italy just down the road from them and they said maybe March. I have sent an email back to them stating the fact that there are no Gilardoni kits left in the world and how sure are you of the production taking place in March, they Gilardoni must have a fairly solid idea when they will produce again, I am waiting for a reply :)

82.5 mm is the bore of the V7 Sport, however those pistons are not for the V7 Sport as they have no relief for the intake valve machined into the crown.

That item number doesn't show up on US ebay, only ebay AU, so maybe the price is higher due to higher fees, the exchange rate or something else related.

There is supposedly a shop in NZ that still has a stock of Gilardonis, though unfortunately I've forgotten the name and didn't bookmark the website. After a brief Google search, I think this may be it: http://www.motokiwi.co.nz/

Thanks for that Amboman I have emailed them and will await reply :)

What are those 82.5 pistons used for. If the specials and ambassadors run 83's what runs 82.5. It is odd that the Asso pistons would be more expensive on the Aus ebay as the Australians need to pay for freight than a tax and the difference in exchange rate which makes the item much more expensive to start with ?

Good question what those 82.5 pistons are for. Either the box is mislabeled and the pistons are actually 83 mm or someone messed up when ordering them originally. If the relief was machined for the intake valve, then they'd work for the V7 Sport.

A friend contacted Gilardoni about availability and was told March of '21, so knowing the Italians it'll be June. Wink

Gillardoni Cylinder and piston kits listed for the V7 special that I bought a year or so back have 82.5mm bores - I assumed that was to use a common piston casting/forging for more than one application. I’ll dig them out and photograph a piston top and post here.

I've bought more than a dozen sets over the years and they have all been 83 mm. The only ones that were 82.5 mm were for the V7 Sport.
