Hi Ken GB,
Interesting. And a pity. I am sure you're right. I have a Brit friend here in our village who has spent 4 months so far trying to get a CoC from Ducati ---- same problem, -- you might expect them to be a mite more efficient, solely owned by Audi. But there again their only real keeness seems to be to flog new stuff and give the minimum support that is required or smiles and platitudes that don't cost them. Kind regards Ted |

Ah Ben,
Just noticed -- your Harris tweed jacket? Was that the one with the leather elbow patches and cuffs?? Have you seen my leather flying helmet and goggles? I seem to have misplaced them! Ted |

Ahha!
The CoC saga continueth chaps !! --- Called Inmoto in London. At last a helpful chap, Francisco - Italian would you believe.-- Who did indeed give me a direct number for Piaggio in London. 0208 290 8800. --- Called them, hear lengthy, overwhelmingly uninteresting spiel of how they use my data in compliance with 27 different EU regulations -- and eventually got to a pleasant girl, -- asked about CoC --- who put me through to --- Da-Dahhh! --- (I believe Italy) a lady , Kate, who looked up the mails I'd sent, told me they'd cancelled (ignored) them because the Frame number I put doesn't exist ! So I told her the Frame Number and the engine number again, reading it from a picture of it on the headstock --- Result?? I still don't exist!! I'm surprised -- I make enough ruddy noise, I would have thought they'd realised I do exist!! --- anyway Next step -- send picture of bike, picture of frame number, picture of engine number and picture of sticker? ( What sticker, there ain't one) to <doc.noreply@piaggio.com> and they will see if the bike is actually a Moto Guzzi or perhaps a chinese copy!! So lads, I await an efficient, immediate and incredibly helpful reply that will instantly supply me a CoC ! I'm not holding my breath --- Ted |

Same story with my Monza according to DVLA it doesn`t exist even with all its original factory numbers and VIN plate. My bike now has a new 17 digit VIN but unfortunately my V5C is stuck at DVLA who are still only dealing with key worker enquiries

Ah, A plethora of helpful replies
![]() Ben. --- Thats most kind of you and generous to a fault, but I have found one on a packet of Romainian made toilet paper. I'll use that - I'm sure MG will be quite satisfied with that! Chris. --- So, yet another case of "computer say No!" God help us! Red Leader one. --- Indeed, indeed ; that was my first thought -- as you see from past 'stuff from me it has also been my second, third and likely fourth thought! That said I had decided that in the last resort I would wire up Piaggio --- TO THE MAINS!! Mike H --- You reckon?? That's not quite what I call it. NOW, YOU CHAPS, IF SOMEONE WILL REMIND ME HOW TO POST A SINGLE PICTURE I WILL POST A CLEAR EXAMPLE OF THE DIFFICULTIES OF 'TRANSLATION' WHEN GETTING STUFF FROM ABROAD! --- which I am sure you will find of use to you in the future! Cheers Ted |

Anyone who has had need to communicate with pen pushing officials in other countries will be well aware of translation difficulties.

Brian,
The one pic I wanted to post was not serious -- simply a great example of mistranslation that I thought you lot might find amusing. But I'm not sure how to post it! Cheers Ted |

Hi Ted, pics are always welcome, if you google up Postimage it will allow you to select from your pics and give you the hotlink for forums. I think it safe to say that views of Portugal are somewhat underrepresented here ...

That Benelli looks great Ben. Can we look forward to a road test report, "Benelli in the High Sierra" or similar? You certainly have the roads on which to give it a good workout.

I´d be happy to oblige Dave, but I´m not certain a Chinese made, assembled in India pretend Italian marque would cut the jolly old mustard on a hallowed forum such as this ...
