I ride through the winter when the temp is above 0°C and there is no obvious ice.

This exposes the bike to grit and salt. I clean it regularly through the winter, BUT why is there rust on the disc rotors and also the bolts that hold the rocker cover are not shiny and chromed. The bottom end where - by design - water is collecting and sitting on the bolts is looking grotty.

I also had rust on the mirror clamps under the rubber boot. Not sure if anyone before me has manhandelled that clamp.

I am still comparing to my old Breva 1100 which in 19 years and use throughout the winter has not had that much decay as the Stelvio has in less than ONE year.

Are other Mandello and Stelvio owners seeing the same issues?

One reason I gave up winter riding decades ago.
A bit late now but have a look at using ACF50 next winter.

I don’t know which fastener finishes Guzzi specify, but I know that the most common zinc plating method is no longer available as one of the chemicals used in the process was banned in the EU a few years ago. At work we had to change all of our nut and bolt part numbers to a new version with different coating. We opted to go for ‘Dacromet’ mechanically applied zinc as an upgrade to corrosion protection at the same time.
