Microsoft Edge is the new web browser which comes with Windows 10. Unfortunately it contains extra "protection" which effectively prevents the insertion of emoticons at times into posts. Something to do with Java script.
WebWiz are aware of the problem, but it will require a major rewrite of the script editor to cure this issue. While in IE11 you have the option to remove this protected mode, it appears you can't in Edge, the thought is that Edge has been released before it was really ready - what a surprise! If anyone who upgrades to 10 would prefer to keep using IE, it is still there, buried in the Windows Accessories (windows button- all apps) and all your favourites and passwords will still be there.

I think, with the new forum upgrade, this issue has been resolved.
Using Edge to type this and emoticons seem to work OK.
