Nice bikes, I really like the Gen2 Vmax and as for  the BMW I have had a few of the bricks. Last one was a 2004 K1200GT and that was a terrific mile muncher and deceptively quick.

That said I will stick pretty much with Guzzi now as they have so much more character.Thumbs Up

I love the old stuff, although my lack of technical know how would be an issue in keeping one on the road I suspect,

i have kept a 1986 T5 running and had a 1995 Cali, both of which i had occasion to spanner more than once and i would not class myself as a mechanic in any shape or form - Guzzi's are basically quite simple and a lot of work can be done by you if you can pick up a ratchet

If you're using Windows you should be able to resize it smaller with Paint.

I removed that and sent it to someone on the club site, it's now got a rack fitted and a givi monkey universal plate fitted,

Them side boxes are big enough to carry a change of underwear only, but the givi maxia makes up for it!

Funnily enough as I was only recently introduced to John, just before Xmas, we have not met up yet but have exchanged some emails and I  love his creations, really lovely.
Cannot do anything to change my late bro's bikes but when I get my G5 /Spada , it will be John I shall talk to about how and what to do...Big smile

Here's another one then.....

My mate Dave and I bought the 750S and the V7 Sport in the UK in 2010, and shipped them over to Aus.

Great pair of bikes, but when someone offered me too much money for the 850, I sold it to fund something more comfortable, a Norge.

The 750S.

That's right, the Multistrada forum use it too, bit more civilised than the H Cafe.

Good meet up place for us Guzzi Riders too as it's quite central ish

Yes agreed. Met a guy and his wife on a Stelvio there in the summer [ I used to live nearby, still not far away ] It is a good venue. The only other place I went that seemed like it was the AV8 cafe on Cirencester airport - again used by lots of different clubs.

Not far for me, bit posh compared to the H Cafe which I admit I like especially when I turn up on my old rusty Lodola and park it amongst the race reps, people aren't sure if it should be allowed on the Queen's Highway.

Last time I was there it was in summer and I spent a very pleasant hour having lunch and watching a bunch of soggy ramblers trudging along the river in the pouring rain. Used to be a favorite spot of mine to stop when delivering from Oxford to Reading.

Last year in France, I heard one coming down the road, and it had the most awesome sound.
I later saw it parked up, and saw it had Agostini silencers fitted.
I'd have to have that can, if I owned a V7.
There's one I see regularly around my way, the same colour as yours.
It's definitely a head turner.

Here's my current squeeze (of 20 yr's). Guess where?
And they say these are heavy, uncomfortable, cramped, stiff throttled with a gearbox like a non-synchro tractor. Piffle. Devon to Bellagio via Folkestone in three days with hardly a whimper.....(from the bike....) Wink

Now having a bit of a tart-up before the Spring comes bouncing in.

Thank you. I can't wait to take it round Italy this year. I've seen and heard those Agostini pipes and that sound so sweet! See 2 different styles now too which is awesome.

Much the same with the Daytona - I had lots of warnings that it was cramped, uncomfortable and generally not worth the money ..... it is the best bike ever as long as you have a reasonably open road and can move at over 50mph. Through heavy traffic it complains the whole time, coughing, spluttering and generally misbehaving.... but I guess the 1100sport and Daytona werent really built for city centres on Saturday mornings Smile

In my humble opinion, not much point in owning it then. I own a 750 S3 from 1975, that seem to sell nowadays for around 9/10 grand - doesn't stop me thrashing it, enjoying it and looking after it. Mind you, I bought it 25 years ago, and no doubt, if you'd bought a Le Mans 1 25 years ago for little money you'd feel the same about it now, no matter what its perceived value nowadays.

I had one for a while and it was fantastic, but it had to go, simply couldn't afford to keep it and other one too, plus no space. Someone else enjoying it now.

The only way would possibly be an investment but then owning a lovely machine like that and not riding is a waste of money. Got any pictures of your S3 italianmotor?

Nice bike - I think the Le Mans II really looks quite okay in its original trim, and the fairing works well.

My Le Mans II however looks like this being a right mishmasher, well it did a year or so ago....

Today I started stripping the bits I don't need off a cosmetically challenged Cali 1100i and tried out some spare bodywork out to get some ideas for a Calimans. The next thing is to change the swinging arm for a shorter one, fit ignition, carbs, a simple wiring harness, LM pegs or rearsets, fit some bodywork properly and get it running as soon as possible. Most of the bits needed are in the garage so I'm hoping it won't take too long to get a basic runaround. It can be tidied up later.Smile

Yes the OEM plastic one warped [ i reheated with my partners hair dryer ] and then reset the shape, but sure enough it warped again. So I got the replacement. Have not decided if I like the Silver or will paint it Black with some heat resistant paint?
